About

The Established Heart

This site is designed to be a place where you can come and learn.  My goal is to present teachings on various subjects is a short, clear and concise format.  Each post should only take 10-15 minutes in most cases and in some cases maybe 20-30 minutes.  Although the information is presented in depth, I am trying to put it in smaller installments and give references and thought provoking questions that lead into the next installment.  This gives you the ability to study along with me and to pull as much or as little as you want.

The lessons are a mixture of messages that I have taught over the years along with new stuff.  I have no idea where this is going.  I am doing it because I have felt God leading me to do this for some time.  People may stay away in crowds or it may actually impact lives.  It doesn’t matter,  because I’m doing what I believe I am supposed to do.  I am purposely NOT going to do the things you’re supposed to do on social media.  Other than announcing the site and announcing when new content is posted, there will be no online campaign at this time.  That may change in the future, but I do not believe I am to do any of that at this point.  If God wants this thing to grow, then he will move upon the hearts and minds of other people to share and promote it.  If it touches the hearts and lives of God’s people, then this may very well be the outcome.  If not, then it didn’t deserve to be promoted.  So, you will not be seeing me dump promotions on your wall and you won’t be getting  requests that you share it with all of your friends. You won’t win points with me if you do share,  and you certainly won’t lose any if you don’t.  I’m going to love you either way.  I’m not doing this to win favor, “likes”, or anything of the sort.  I am simply obeying what the Father would have me do.

My great desire in this, is to build a culture of love and respect for God’s word.  My hope is that you will take the scriptures and meditate upon them and let them come alive to you.  I am planning on covering the foundational topics, and also touch on a few of the current “doctrines du jour”.  In most cases, new posts will arrive once a week.  Some sooner and others at longer intervals.

I am limiting the amount of comments that can be made for two reasons.  First, I want this to be a learning experience for believers at all levels.  Secondly, this is not a debate blog.  I am posting what the word states in a teaching style that is very clear.  I really don’t care that your Aunt Sally taught you differently or that your church does it differently.  I am only interested in what God says about it.  I don’t have time for endless debates.  So if you disagree with me and are not able to remain friendly, then this probably isn’t the place for you.  If you have sincere questions, I will of course do my utmost to answer those as quickly as possible.  I have a saying that I use in my business to diffuse peoples’ concerns about asking what they think may be a stupid question.  I usually say “There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.”  One comes from a position of sincerity, while the other comes from arrogance, not taking the time to understand, or just faking it.  So if you have a legitimate question, fire away.

Also, if you think “He completely missed <insert your point of concern here>”, please remember each post is designed to be a quick read 10-20 mins.  So, not to worry, I will probably come back around to that point of concern in a future post.  While I am going for depth, I am aware that not everyone can spend hours studying.  So, I am putting into bite sized chunks.  It may take a little longer, but I would rather people take what I give them and study it as opposed to taking one look and saying oh, I don’t have time for that.  The good news is that as this thing gets filled out, all posts will be categorized in an archive.  You can go through all of the posts on the topic of grace or faith all in one night if you wish (but it will be one long night).
