How to get the most from this site

My goal for this site, is for it to become a resource to you.  In most cases, I will cite plenty of scripture and also go back to the original language and bring out the shades of meaning that don’t quite come through in the English language.

The posts are spaced out about two weeks apart.  So there is plenty of time for you to go back through the scriptures and to meditate upon them as you study.  I want and joyously invite you to check the scriptures for yourself to see if what I am saying is true.  I want God’s word to come alive within you.  If this site helps you to study and to learn, and then live a victorious life in Christ, then I will have succeeded.

I would like to take a moment to point out how this site is structured in order to make it easier for you to navigate and get the most from it if you are researching a particular topic.  The most recent post is always on the front page.  There is a navigational menu bar along the left side of the page.  This navigation bar is setup as follows from top to bottom:

  • There is a search tool at the top so you can search for specific words or phrases.
  • Beneath that is a short list of the most recent posts.  If you’re a regular visitor and you missed a week or two, you should be able to go right to the posts that you missed.
  • Beneath the recent posts are some recent comments from other visitors to the site.
  • Beneath the comment section is the archive listing.  These are arranged by month and year going all the way back to when the site was started.
  • Beneath the archive is a Category listing.  This is a topical listing based upon key words that I have attached to each post.  This isn’t a topical index. So, if you click on “faith” you won’t see just posts that are dedicated to faith as the subject.  Instead, you will get all the posts that pertain to faith in some way or are strongly related to the subject of faith.  Of course, you will also get the posts that are dedicated to that subject.

This site is always a work in process and is ever growing.  I consider it a lifetime project.  So if you don’t see a particular topic, check in from time to time.

In closing, may I present you with one of my favorite verses in the entire bible:

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

At first glance, that verse sounds like it’s saying that you should never speak the word of God.  Actually, it is quite the opposite.  What is really being said, is not that you shouldn’t speak the word, but the word will always be upon your lips so that it “never departs”.  You shall meditate in the word day and night.  My friend, this is the key to understanding God’s word.  So take the scriptures I give you and speak them, think about them and let God make them come alive within your heart. – Mel
