review2I think I finally understand why musical composers use the term Opus.  It defines a period of inspiration in which they created numerous works.  This seems to be my writing style lately.  Life keeps getting in the way.  Then you finally get some time and out it flows.  Life got in the way again and then I got sick with what seemed to be COVID like symptoms.  Fortunately, it turned out to be just the regular flu.  So, I’m thankful for that.

Since we all have a lot of time on our hands these days owing to the coronavirus lock-downs, I thought it might be a good time to pick up where I left off on the series I called “The Abundant Heart.”  Since it’s been a while since this series was originally published, I have decided to re-release these teachings as a matter of review.  I’m doing this for a few reasons.  First, there are some fundamental principles that will apply with the new topics in the series and everyone needs to understand those principles.  Secondly, we all have more time on our hands and much of the material is really pertinent to the days we are living in right now.  Lastly, I have many new readers that have never seen any of this before, so its good to get everyone on the same page.

As a matter of review, here is an overview of what was covered thus far in “The Abundant Heart” series:

Lesson 1

A giant financial institution spent a lot of money on an ad campaign that would ask “What’s in YOUR wallet?” But, I think the real question that needs to be asked and that each of us must answer is “What’s in YOUR heart?”  Jesus taught about this at different times and in different ways.  Prov 4:23  Says: Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.  We talk about these Issues and what that word means.  In Luke 6:45, Jesus said:   A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. We talk in depth about the human heart and what this treasure is all about.

Lesson 2

In lesson 1 we talked a great deal about the power of the tongue. In this lesson we discuss how this can impact your everyday life. We discuss both the positive impact and just as important, the negative impact. We talk a great deal about the words spoken over children and the harm that can be done.  We discuss how the prosperity of your soul (or spirit) determines the level of health and prosperity you enjoy. In other words,  What is happening on the inside, determines what is happening on the outside. Are you constantly living in poverty?  Always sick? Problems at work?  Marriage issues? Problems with the kids? How is YOUR soul?  Is it prospering?  A moment ago, I said: What is happening on the inside, determines what is happening on the outside. You could also look at it this way. What is on display in and around your life reveals what is happening deep in your heart.  We discuss this in depth.

Lesson 3

This lesson expands upon what we talked about in lesson 2. We also talk about the lies that we may be actively believing and making active in our lives. Many people will quote Mark 11:24 with regards to finances and think nothing of the other junk in their heart that they are believing.   Isn’t it funny how believers in Christ will believe anything and everything except what Jesus actually says? And yet we will believe that God is against us. We will believe God is trying to punish us.  God wants us sick.  He killed our child so that child could be with him. I’m worthless. My wife doesn’t love me.  My husband is cheating on me. My boss is trying to fire me.  These are just a few examples of the trash that we will readily believe. No evidence at all, just blind faith that these things are happening.  If that isn’t bad enough, we will fight to believe these things. Why is that?  Why do we choose to believe these lies about God and ourselves? Think about that… From there, we introduce fear as we discuss Job and what happened in that story.

Lessons 4 and 5

These lessons continues on the subject of fear. We spent a lot of time on this subject because this is the primary reason people never live the life that God has intended. They toss relationships away because of it and they fail to obey because of it. Some people can have their hearts stop and they die because of it.  We talk about how fear is really our own inability to trust God in certain areas. We also talk about the spirit of fear and how fear has a sidekick called “torment.” We also talk about what to do about fear in your own life.

The Abundant Heart series: What’s coming next?

We are going to spend some time talking about envy and jealousy. We’re going to be talking about judgments, bitter root judgments and something called bitter root expectancy or what I like to call bitter root faith.  We’ll just see where things go from there.  I also have some stand alone teachings that I will share here and there also.

So, as these are released, please take some time and review those teachings and get yourself ready for some new stuff. Understanding the mechanics behind the heart of man and how these things can activate good or evil in our lives is a prerequisite for understanding the new stuff that is coming.  I will start posting the review posts sometime next week.

In the meantime, be praying for our president, the leaders of our country and please pray over this entire election process.

Until next time, may God’s richest blessings be yours in Christ Jesus.
